Music in BELFOUNTAIN!!!!!!!

Greetings all;

I’ve been sitting in my little music room, playing my fiddle or guitar most nights for the past 2 years. My dog, Isla, seems to enjoy it (or tolerate it), and though I’m getting better, I’d really rather have someone else who is actually good perform for me. But that’s not been possible for the longest time. I think about the poor musicians who have had to shift their careers – some going online teaching, some doing online performances (like Gunning and Cormier, or Madison Violet). And others finding new careers.

Do you think we’ve waited long enough????? Are you ready to sit and listen, stomp your feet, sing along and finally enjoy some live music????

OMG, LIVE MUSIC IN BELFOUNTAIN!!!!

Sweet Alibi is coming to Belfountain – WEDNESDAY, MAY 18TH!!!!!!

Who are they? Listen to what Manitoba Music write about them…

There is more than a touch of magic in the luminous vocal harmonies powering the soulful roots pop of Winnipeg combo Sweet Alibi. Let’s just say goosebumps are inevitable.

Whether the voices of Jess Rae Ayre, Amber Nielsen, and Michelle Anderson are tightly braided together, as they are in the super-sticky title track of their dazzling fourth album, Make A Scene, or are ornamenting Ayre’s lead on the gorgeously propulsive and contemplative “Slow Down,” Sweet Alibi’s phrasings are at once their main attraction and chief calling card.

Of course, when you’ve been playing together consistently for more than a decade, as these Western Canadian Music Award winners have you’re destined to etch out a distinctive sonic groove that leverages everyone’s talents.

https://www.manitobamusic.com/sweetalibicheck out their website and listen to some tunes!!!

I know we’re all ever-so-slightly hesitant about being inside a building with others who are not in our immediate bubble. But time has moved on, we’ve gotten our vaccines, and the world is still turning. I’m giving you lots of notice so you can plan for this.

The performance will be at the Melville White Church Mississauga Road, thanks to the Belfountain Heritage Society….lots of room to spread out in the pews! And Phil Winter from Goodlot Farmstead Brewing Co. is going to grace us with the beer truck of heavenly beverages! (the opening day for Goodlot’s beer garden is Saturday May 14th, so visit them ahead of time if you’d like to know how wonderful their beverages are!)

Tickets will go on sale shortly, – $30 per person –  so stay tuned for another e mail with more details. And please, please share this note with anyone and everyone you think might be interested. I would LOVE to sell out the house. ( I do this for free so we can have live music in our little community. Your ticket $ goes to renting the hall, any insurance that I need to get, and that’s about it. I want to give as much as possible to the musicians. )

Trust me, you will LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!

All the best to you!

Susan
