REMEMBERING JOHN HOLDEN
April 7, 1934 – April 6, 2011

Everyone knew John Holden
and John knew everyone too.
The stories he told were of olden
times and they always were true.

He lived in a great many places
and of jobs he had quite a few,
but he never forgot any faces,
or the names to go with them too.

Now Bev was his real high school sweetheart
and the love of his life all his days,
although it was not always easy
she learned to live with his ways.

Whenever John started a story Bev looked on with all her support,
As the story got longer and longer, (John’s stories were never short)
Bev’s patience began to wear thin,
And before John could get to the ending,
Bev found that she had to butt in.

A fond father he was to his children
first Waldo, then Jeff, and Jen.
Although they tested his patience,
he forgave them time and again.

In due course the three of them married,
to Renee, Lorie and Jim.
John thrived on his growing family
while they all doted on him.

Four grandsons gave him pleasure
Dillon, Jake,  Zack and Sean.
Each one added a measure
of  joy to the life of John.

A man of such good nature
and kindness, joy and fun.
Will be missed by friends and family,
but remembered by everyone!
